From current holiday happenings to what makes the area popular with couples and families, we touched on an array of things to entice travelers with her.  If you missed the live broadcast of RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa on Saturday, 16 December 2023 from 10a-12p ET, or simply want to hear this interview again, now that it’s aired across the USA via our 535+ weekly stations, an archive in .mp3 format is posted for you here —

It’s here — having occurred around 10:50am on Saturday, 26 October 2019 — “Destination Spotlight #55” — as we showcased the city many consider to be “the oldest in the United States” — and perhaps the birthplace of America’s tourism — St. Augustine, Florida.  Located on Florida’s east coast south of Jacksonville and north of Daytona Beach — this city offers a considerably different type of Florida travel experience.  Yes there are over 40 miles of excellent beaches that are recognized as some of the best in the world, and there are many locations for golf, boutiques/shopping, art/cultural galleries, a vibrant food culture, fishing/boating and more.  Castillo de San Marcos — the oldest masonry fort in the U.S. and a National Monument is a popular draw — and two former historic hotels that are worth a visit, The Ponce de Leon and the Alcazar, now operate as Flagler College and the Lightner Museum.  A visit to St. Augustine also provides unique scenery mixed with history that helps noticeably differentiate it from other cities or areas around the U.S.  You’ll feel a quaint or romantic vibe as you stroll along the brick-lined streets and experience the city’s European flavor, with buildings that go back centuries.  St. Augustine will celebrate its 455th anniversary in 2020 — making it an ideal place to continuously nurture your knowledge and feed curiosities.  To learn more and hear their Tourism CEO Richard Goldman talk St. Augustine on RMWorldTravel, the full interview that ran across our national network of 410+ affiliates, can be heard by clicking on the play arrow below …
