Travel is such an important connector in our society as well as a vital economic engine. What we love about travel is all the people that we regularly meet and the relationships we build, the opportunities it provides to walk in history, savor different culinary flavors, experience new adventures and opportunities, go behind-the-scenes with an array of entities to share insider info and encounters — positively impacting the areas we visit through the power of our popular national program — and more.
America’s #1 Travel Radio Show is now heard on 575+ weekly stations across the USA, and our reach exceeds 1.2 million show fans/followers. It’s a blessing not lost upon us, but there is not another nationally syndicated travel radio program like ours out there — and everyday we’re thankful for the good fortune that enables RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa to be the leader in our sector of the Travel World.
Up to 8x’s per year we agree to take the program out of the studio and descend on a destination of interest for a week long big “Let’s Go America! Tour”… These special events culminate with a live remote broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show from the destination, and they are filled with busy daily itineraries that connect us with many different sides of the locales we choose to visit — beyond the brochures or activities easily found on a website. The purpose of each big “Let’s Go America! Tour” is to educate/entice/empower show fans and followers to travel — as we say “Get out from behind the desk, get off the sofa, get out of your comfort zone and go experience and enjoy the world!” The facts are when that happens, we’re all better off because of it.
For this latest big “Let’s Go America! Tour” – United Kingdom we agreed to do something different with one of our long-standing show partners – Seabourn, and make it a 2-week luxury Expedition Cruise aboard their Seabourn Venture. So after completing our successful big “Let’s Go America! Tour” – London (8-13 April 2024), we traveled over to Greenwich (where time begins) to catch-up with the Seabourn Venture and kicked-off a 14-day adventure, 14-28 April 2024. As we navigated the English Channel into the Irish Sea and then the North Atlantic — we traveled around Wales, made an unexpected delightful stop in Cornwall, visited the Island of Lundy, enjoyed a day returning to Dublin, as well as exploring Calf of Man and Isle of Man where our first live remote broadcast on this trip occurred. Then it was on to Rathlin Island in Northern Ireland, followed by Staffa and Iona Island in Scotland. Tobermory and Isle of Mull were next, before we made history with Seabourn by being the first cruise ship to anchor in Isle of Lewis & Harris! The next day, Seabourn Venture became only the second cruise ship to ever dock in Stornoway — and although she’s a smaller sized Expedition Ship, she was the biggest to ever go there. Copinsay followed and then we arrived in Kirkwall and the Orkney Islands where our second live remote broadcast took place. Dundee and Edinburgh added 3 more days to the trip, turning a 14-day itinerary into 17!
First we will say the folks at Seabourn were truly excellent in working with us to make this big “Let’s Go America! Tour” – United Kingdom happen. We’ve sailed with Seabourn many times in the past on their traditional cruises, and will again this October & November aboard Seabourn Ovation with show fans/followers, but this was our first Expedition Cruise with them. The entire on-board experience was everything we’ve come to appreciate and enjoy about Seabourn — but it included the expedition offerings as well. The combination is superb and we whole-heartedly recommend you go experience what we did with them, or one of their many other itineraries offered. What a trip and what an adventure!
In what we call the “Fastest 2 Hours in Travel” — during our live national broadcasts of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show on both April 20th and 27th 2024 — we revealed what Expedition Cruising is all about and shared some of the activities and experiences we had in all the places traveled.
