At the start of 2025, after 8 years of focusing on Cities across the nation that our hosts Robert & Mary Carey have personally visited, we altered the popular “Destination Spotlight” series of the show to focus on States, doing it alphabetically.  That meant Alabama was first and it occurred on Jan 18th 2025, followed by Alaska on Feb 1st, Arizona on Feb 8th, Arkansas on Mar 1st, California on Mar 29th, Colorado on Apr 26th, Connecticut on May 10th, Delaware on May 31st, Florida on Jun 14th, Georgia on Jun 21st, Hawaii on Jul 12th, Idaho on Jul 26th, Illinois on Aug 9th, Indiana on Sept 6th, Iowa was Sept 20th, Kansas on Oct 18th, Kentucky on Oct 25th and Louisiana on Nov 1st, before we turned to the “M” named States with Maine happening on Nov 22nd and Maryland on Dec 6th.  Then the calendar flipped to 2026 with The Careys beginning the year traveling for 25 days on the big “Let’s Go America! Tour” – Miami to Los Angeles, that had them transiting the Panama Canal as a way to supercharge our America 250 coverage, before they picked up with Massachusetts on Jan 31st 2026, Michigan on February 7th, Minnesota on March 7th and that meant Mississippi was next, which happened on America’s #1 Travel Radio Show during the March 28th 2026 live national broadcast.

The “Hospitality State” is America’s 20th State, admitted to the Union back in 1817.  Rochelle Hicks is the Director of Tourism for Mississippi and with Spring Break underway and Easter about to happen, she joined Robert & Mary on-air for a fast-paced conversation that touched on many of the things offered across the State that attracts travelers.  From their beautiful gulf coast, historical cities, being the birthplace of American music and more, Rochelle also shared some thoughts on America’s 250 and what her State is doing to join in the celebrations.

Now that RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa has successfully transmitted via satellite and aired across the USA on our 615+ weekly AM & FM radio stations, you can access the interview that’s been archived here, just click the play arrow immediately following this text …
