Since the start of 2025, after 8 years of focusing on Cities across the nation that our hosts Robert & Mary Carey have personally visited, we altered the popular “Destination Spotlight” series of the show to focus on States, doing it alphabetically.  That meant Alabama was first and it occurred on Jan 18th 2025, followed by Alaska on Feb 1st, Arizona on Feb 8th, Arkansas on Mar 1st, California on Mar 29th, Colorado on Apr 26th, Connecticut on May 10th, Delaware on May 31st, Florida on Jun 14th, Georgia on Jun 21st, Hawaii on Jul 12th, Idaho on Jul 26th, Illinois on Aug 9th, Indiana on Sept 6th, Iowa was Sept 20th, Kansas on Oct 18th, Kentucky on Oct 25th and Louisiana on Nov 1st, before we turned to the “M” named States with Maine happening on Nov 22nd and Maryland on Dec 6th.  Then the calendar flipped to 2026 with The Careys beginning the year traveling for 25 days on the big “Let’s Go America! Tour” – Miami to Los Angeles, that had them transiting the Panama Canal as a way to supercharge our America 250 coverage, before they picked up with Massachusetts on Jan 31st 2026.  Michigan followed on February 7th, Minnesota on March 7th and then Mississippi on March 28th.  Then came the big “Let’s Go America! Tour” – Park City, and upon returning from those Utah travels, it was time for Missouri on April 18th 2026.  Montana followed on May 9th, and as we moved into June 2026, Nebraska got its turn to be showcased.  During the live national broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show on June 6th 2026, the State’s Executive Director for Tourism, Jenn Gjerde, joined the show to talk-up the place known for their “Cornhuskers.”

Nebraska is America’s 37st State and it was admitted to the Union back in 1867.  Jenn’s connection to Nebraska is undeniable and varied.  During the discussion she shared some of what she most identifies with the State, while The Careys also get her talking about some of the more quirky places to visit, they talked agriculture, how Nebraska is home to the largest “hand planted” forest in the U.S., why President Andrew Johnson, a Tennessean, looms large in this State, the impact of Berkshire Hathaway on tourism came up, as did things authentic to Nebraska.  Robert & Mary also engaged Jenn on upcoming America 250 celebrations and more.
