2025 has us showcasing State travel during our popular “Destination Spotlight” series of the show, with our hosts Robert & Mary Carey doing it alphabetically. Alabama occurred on Jan 18th, Alaska on Feb 1st, Arizona on Feb 8th, Arkansas on March 1st, California on March 29th, Colorado on April 26th, Connecticut on May 10th, Delaware on May 31st, Florida on June 14th, Georgia on June 21st, Hawaii on July 12th, Idaho on July 26th, Illinois was August 9th and that means Indiana was next. Its vibrant Capital City, Indianapolis, is also known as the “Racing Capital of The World” since it hosts the Indy 500 each year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, an event that’s widely considered to be the largest single-day sporting event in the world by attendance. But Indianapolis’ Children’s Museum is also the World’s Largest and experiencing its downtown area via the Central Canal is unique to this city. As for the State itself, Indiana is the “RV Capital of the World” since the majority of recreational vehicles are manufactured in the State. You’ll find the largest private collection of Railroad items in the U.S. at the Monon Rail Collection, and one of the largest State Parks in America can also be found in Indiana — Brown County State Park (be sure to check out its quaint Inn). For some fun, a visit to Santa Claus, Indiana will be memorable and although you’ll find many sports and outdoor activities to be popular across Indiana — Basketball is somewhat synonymous with the “Hoosier State”…
