The “Destination Spotlight” segment of our program was added to America’s #1 Travel Radio Show by hosts Robert & Mary Carey back in April 2017. Since then 129 locations have been showcased, and post-pandemic we’ve chosen to also “check-in” on some select locations featured previously to get updates. The purpose of the segment has always been to showcase locations Robert & Mary have personally visited and enjoy — while sharing insights into what makes each place worthy of your travel dollars. America is blessed with many destinations to go experience, and certainly places like New York, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington DC, Orlando, Las Vegas and Nashville often come to mind quickly when considering travel — but there are so many other places to consider!
Did you know you can go see the actual “Little Rock” in the very city that was given its name by French explorers? It’s true, right in River Front Park!
We first featured Little Rock during our live broadcast back on November 9th 2019, and 57 months later we decided it was time for a “check-in” — which is exactly what happened during the live national broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show on August 10th, 2024.
From discussing Big Dam Bridge to Cheese Dip, the vibrant arts & cultural scene, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, all the outdoor offerings available to visitors and more — Little Rock CVB Director Libby Doss Lloyd helped us offer up some enticing reasons for you to go experience the Capital City of Arkansas
Now that the program has been transmitted via satellite and aired across the USA via our 585+ weekly radio stations that broadcast RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa, you can access the interview again that’s been archived here by clicking on the play arrow immediately following this text …

When you think of Little Rock, what comes to mind? Over the past decade this Capital City has experienced somewhat of a rebirth with arts and culture leading the way. It’s also a good getaway for all types of outdoor activities and adventures as well. For our “Destination Spotlight #56” — that aired on 9 November 2019 — we turned our attention to Little Rock, located in America’s 25th State, admitted to the union in 1836. Just named again as one of America’s Top 50 Best Smaller Cities, Little Rock was also characterized as a “hidden gem” by Outdoor Magazine who also added it to one of its 2019 Top 12 Best Places to Live list. From it’s bustling downtown, eclectic street cars, Presidential Library and more — the next time you’re seeking a getaway to someplace offering a different vibe — consider Little Rock. To learn more and hear their Tourism CEO Gretchen Hall talk about her home city of Little Rock on RMWorldTravel, the full interview that ran across our national network of 410+ affiliates, can be heard by clicking on the play arrow below …
