When you think of Florida, does Tampa immediately come to mind?  It’s the state’s 3rd largest city and we say it has Florida’s best airport.  For our 61st “Destination Spotlight”in our popular series, we spent some time with Visit Tampa Bay tourism CEO Santiago Corrada, who passionately shared some unique attributes of his home city.  Located in the 27th State in the Union, that was admitted back in 1845 and is known as the “Sunshine State” — Tampa is a destination that offers travelers of all types something to enjoy.  For example, if theme parks are your thing they feature Busch Garden, and Legoland Florida is also nearly.  And only 1 hour and 15 minutes or so by car up I-4, is Orlando.  If boating or the water is your thing, Tampa has you covered and then some.  If you’re a sports fan between MLB, NFL, NHL , college sports, soccer and more — it will be a rare day or night that you won’t find a game of some type to enjoy.  And for all you foodies out there, Tampa isn’t just for bay area residents or the casual visitor any more as this vibrant city offers a cornucopia of culinary delights.  It’s even home to the oldest Spanish Restaurant in America!  Tampa’s weather is a definite draw as are other things such as the Florida State Fair, a popular river walk, their performing arts center, air museum, cigars and more.  In short, the next time you’re seeking a place to visit that will keep you busy from sunrise to late at night — go experience Tampa.  To learn more and hear our discussion, the full interview that ran across our national network of 410+ affiliates, can be heard by clicking on the play arrow below …
