The “Personal Connection” series of our show can certainly take on many different themes and topics — but at its core is our intent to underscore the transformational side of travel and the lasting impact it can have on travelers of all types.  Sometimes this involves personal achievements, sometimes it’s a milestone, sometimes it’s something like souvenir collecting or making a difference.  It also may be the way travelers are connected to a certain hotel, or aircraft or another tangible aspect of the travel world.  For our 22 February 2020 live broadcast of RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa, we decided to share a personal favorite of ours — and a place we’ve enjoyed for both leisure and business a number of times over the years — as well as with our kids.  Hotel del Coronado is an iconic west coast resort located in the San Diego area, and it’s one of those special properties in the hospitality sector of the travel world.  If you’ve been there yourself, then you immediately know what we’re talking about.  During our visit over the mid-February holiday weekend, we sat down with their General Manager, Harold Rapoza, to collectively share some of what makes this resort special, as well as the impressive $400 million dollar revitalization and expansion of this 132 year old property that’s actively underway.  You can hear the full interview that aired across our network of 410+ affiliates nationwide by clicking on the arrow below …
