Whether you’re a fan of NHL Hockey or not, we all know that winning the Stanley Cup is the ultimate victory in professional hockey.  Ever wonder how the Stanley Cup moves around the U.S., Canada and the world?  Does it travel as cargo?  How often does it travel and what’s required?  What happens when a new team wins it?  Who engraves the Stanley Cup and how do they fit all those names on it?

Phil Pritchard is known as the “Keeper of The Cup” as it is his responsibility to safeguard the prized trophy when it’s on the move.  And standing 36 inches high and weighing in at 38 pounds makes for some interesting stories and challenges.

Phil’s been traveling with the Stanley Cup now since 1988 and during our live national broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show on December 7th 2024, for the latest “Personal Connection” segment, he joined us to share some of his experiences, discuss his love for hockey, and how he came to be the Cup’s “Keeper”…

Now that the program has been transmitted over satellite and aired across the USA via our 600+ weekly radio stations that broadcast RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa, you can access the interview again that’s been archived here by clicking the play arrow immediately following this text …
