Every February “Hope Springs Eternal” as baseball fans across the nation have optimism for their team as preparation for the new season begins.  A wonderful way to enjoy baseball and get a jump-start on the year is to go experience Spring Training Baseball in Florida or Arizona.  Whether your team plays in the Grapefruit League or Cactus League this time of year, the opportunity to interact with the players, see future stars, enjoy a more cost-effective way to watch a game (or games) and get outside to bask in the sun and warmer weather make this a favorite time of year for us.

Baseball has been blessed with some premier announcers calling the games who have left their permanent mark on the game — think Mel Allen, Red Barber, Vin Scully, Joe Buck, Bob Uecker, Ernie Harwell and others — but also atop that list is the long-time “Voice of the New York Yankees” — legendary announcer John Sterling.

During our live broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show on February 1st 2025, as pitchers and catchers prepare to report to their Spring Training facilities, we decided to check-in with John for the latest “Personal Connection” segment of the show to get his thoughts on baseball in the Spring, experiences over the course of his 65 years in broadcasting and more.

Now that program has been transmitted over satellite and aired across the USA via our 600+ weekly radio stations that are affiliated with RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa, you can access the interview again that’s been archived here by clicking the play arrow immediately following this text …
