It was back in April 2017 that the hosts of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show, Robert & Mary Carey, added the “Destination Spotlight” segment to the program, as a way to showcase lesser known locations they’ve personally visited and feel are worthy of your travel dollars — and it’s grown to become a very popular part of the show! Over the past 7 years and 10 months, 138 locations nationwide have been featured on the show and for 2025 they’ve decided to turn the attention from individual U.S. cities to instead U.S. States — and do it alphabetically. During our live national broadcast on January 18th 2025, that’s exactly what happened as the “The Yellowhammer State” took center state for “Destination Spotlight” #139, as our 22nd State of Alabama began the new focus of the segment.
If you haven’t spent time in Alabama, it’s a State that we highly encourage you to go experience! And if you haven’t visited recently — make plans to return! The range of offerings, its topography and the noticeable differences between its cities is alluring and will keep you engaged. Lee Sentell is Alabama’s Director of Tourism and he and his team are responsible for all things travel/tourism offerings in the State — and he joined us to share an overview while extending the welcome mat.
Now that RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa has been transmitted over satellite and aired across the USA via our 600+ weekly radio stations, you can access the interview again that’s been archived here by clicking the play arrow immediately following this text …
