As regular listeners know, since it’s inception back in April 2017, the “Destination Spotlight” segment of this show is the vehicle hosts Robert & Mary Carey use to showcase locations they have personally visited nationwide and feel are worthy of your travel dollars.  Most of us can quickly think of a few popular travel destinations here in the U.S. but the facts are there are so many that should be considered.  And Virginia Beach is absolutely one of them!

Over 6 years have passed since this vibrant location was last featured, and that changed during the 24 August 2024 live national broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show when their CVB Director Nancy Helman checked-in.  From discussing the special boardwalk and its offerings, First Landing State Park, family friendly venues, The Military Aviation Museum, the many festivals held in Virginia Beach — including what’s ahead for Fall and the holiday season, the conversation with Nancy was insightful and inviting.  We encourage you to go experience this gem of an area yourself and share your experiences with us using the “Contact Us” tab on our website!

Now that RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa has been broadcast via satellite to our national network of 585+ weekly stations across the USA, you can hear the interview again via the archived audio here, simply by clicking on the play arrow immediately following this text …

During the live broadcast of RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa on 21 July 2018, we presented our 28th “Destination Spotlight,” focusing on the 10th State in our nation, commonly known as Old Dominion, to showcase the fun and diverse city of Virginia Beach.  Although Virginia Beach is a terrific summer destination, it’s also a temperate year-round locale for families, couples and outdoor enthusiasts.  Clearly an area rich in history, Virginia Beach features an engaging boardwalk, thriving culinary scene, ample boating activities, an aquarium, the Cape Henry Lighthouse, a strong agricultural community and of course miles of pristine beach.   Whether you enjoy historic hotels, modern beachfront properties, classic B&B’s or rentals through Airbnb and others — the activities and accommodations available in Virginia Beach will satisfy all types of travelers.  Here’s a link to our discussion with Brad Van Dommelen of Visit Virginia Beach …
