Roger Dow, Chief Executive Officer
U.S. Travel Association
The U.S. Travel Association represents all segments of the travel world in America — an industry that generates nearly $3 trillion in economic output and supports nearly 16 million jobs. Their mission is to support and increase travel to and within the United States.
Just off the successful 2022 IPW in Orlando, we decided it was time to reconnect with Show Friend and the CEO of U.S. Travel — Roger Dow. We appreciate Roger’s candor and his tireless efforts to support, grow, positively impact and represent the interests of travelers around the USA. There are many factors currently impacting the World of Travel, from the continued increases of record-high gas prices, inflation, labor and supply chain shortages, pandemic hot-spot concerns and more — but despite all of this with the Summer travel season upon us, American’s are on the move (even if they’re not traveling as far) and we wanted to hear Roger’s thoughts on these realities. He’s also scheduled to step-down from his role in July after 17 years — so before that happens we felt it was time for a check-in with him. To hear the topical discussion that occurred during our live broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show and our “Chief Travel Leader” conversation on 18 June 2022, that was heard across the nation via our national network of now 485+ weekly stations — simply click on the play arrow below this text to access the archive.
Although we couldn’t attend ourselves this year because of prior commitments and our travels involving RMWorldTravel’s special “Let’s Go America! Tour” — we were happy for our friends at the U.S. Travel Association that they were able to successful host IPW 2021 in Las Vegas this week. So before we headed to Maui for Stop #6 (of 10) on our tour, during our live broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show on 25 September 2021 — we reconnected with Show Friend, and the CEO of U.S. Travel Roger Dow. That full “Chief Travel Leader” interview, which includes him discussing IPW 2021 along with a number of other timely and topical travel topics — that aired across our national network now featuring 480+ weekly affiliates — can be heard again right here by simply clicking on the play arrow that follows this text.
Nine months have passed since we last checked-in with Show Friend Roger Dow, CEO of the U.S. Travel Association and with increased optimism and focus on a Coronavirus pandemic recovery, we knew it was time to reconnect. That’s why we invited him to join us while he was traveling down in Florida at The Breakers in Palm Beach to get a report on what he’s seeing, hearing and experiencing as the country works to get back out there and find some normalcy again. Roger is always candid with us, which we appreciate, and this interview was no different. So the week before we started RMWorldTravel’s big “Let’s Go America! Tour” — since U.S. Travel has also started their own Let’s Go There! campaign — on 15 May 2021 during our live broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show, Roger was back talking the world of travel with us. It’s been two months since we last checked-in with Roger Dow, and a lot has transpired as the country begins the process of recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic that has so severely impacted the world, and certainly the numerous sectors of the travel industry. The U.S. Travel Association has some creative ways government can help stimulate growth and support the travel industry, and we encourage all of our show fans to contact the representatives in Congress and urge them to support these measures. You can find them detailed on the USTravel.org website, and you can hear the full “Chief Travel Leader” interview with Roger on America’s #1 Travel Radio Show, that aired across our national network of 415+ affiliates on 30 May 2020, by clicking on the play arrow directly below this text …
