2025 has us showcasing State travel for our popular “Destination Spotlight” series of the show, and our hosts Robert & Mary Carey decided to do it alphabetically.  Alabama occurred on Jan 18th, Alaska on Feb 1st, Arizona was next on Feb 8th, Arkansas on March 1st, California on March 29th, Colorado on April 26th, Connecticut on May 10th and Delaware followed on May 31st.  For June, the time has come for the 27th State in our Nation, that was admitted to the Union back in 1845 — Florida!  And during the live national broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show on June 14th 2025 — the “Sunshine State” had our attention.

Florida is certainly one of our nation’s most popular destinations for travelers of all type, and as Governor Ron DeSantis recently said “Florida’s Tourism Industry Leads the Nation!”

Carol Dover, a native of Florida, has served as the CEO of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association for 30 years.  She also was the Deputy Chief of Staff under former Governor Bob Martinez.  Simply put, she knows Florida as well as anyone and is well connected — and it’s the reason we invited her to join us as we spotlighted her State.

The diversity of Florida can be easily seen and experienced amongst many of its top cities that include Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, Naples, Sarasota, Tallahassee, Palm Beach, Key West, Pensacola and more — as well as one that Carol says is a hidden gem — Ocala.  From its hundreds of miles of beautiful beaches, boating, fishing, theme parks, golf, the space industry, its excellent restaurant scene, great museums and cultural venues, top resorts, history and more — Florida is a State that caters to all!
