The “Personal Connection” segment of our show is our most diverse, as it’s designed to share an array of connections to travel, the way travel can be transformational, the impacts of travel, along with accomplishments through travel and more.  Jonas Deichmann certainly has found a way to use the power of travel to accomplish amazing feats far beyond anything most can or will every experience.  He has traversed nearly 20 countries by swimming, cycling and running.  In September 2020 this German endurance athlete began his epic Triathlon around-the-globe.  The pandemic and border closings certainly had a profound impact on his ambitions — but he remained undeterred.  And when he returned to Munich in November 2021, after 430 days of travel — he had completed the distance of 120 Ironman with nearly 300 miles swimming along the Croatian coast, biking over 13,000 miles and another 3100+ miles running across Mexico.  Oh, and he carried his own luggage the entire time!

Currently he’s in the midst of crossing the USA in an uncommon way.  In June 2023 he departed New York City on his bike and cycled across the nation out to Los Angeles in just 25 days.  Then instead of taking a plane or train or renting a car to return to New York — that’s just not how Jonas travels — he took a brief day of rest and in late July starting running to make his way back to the Big Apple.  He’s running a Marathon or more a day, and we reconnected with Jonas during our live broadcast of America’s #1 Travel Radio Show on 9 September 2023, catching-up with him as he was running through Kansas — having made it though the heat of the Mojave Desert and the challenging terrain of the Rocky Mountains…  To hear our inspirational conversation with him, that aired across the nation via our now 530+ weekly radio stations broadcasting RMWorldTravel with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa, click on the play arrow immediately following this text…
